Design Case Study with Ai
Where illustration
meets new tools
This section is basically my playground. I use it to try things out, follow ideas, and see where they go. Not everything works, and that’s kind of the point.
I usually start with my own drawings and then push them further. I turn flat illustrations into 3D forms, build small scenes, and sometimes develop short animations. I’m interested in what happens when something that starts on paper begins to move and take up space.
AI is part of that process, but it’s not where things begin. It helps me iterate faster, test different directions, and explore ideas that would normally take a lot more time to produce. But the core always comes from my own work.
At the same time, I try to stay critical of what I’m doing. I’m still learning how these tools behave, where they work well, and where they fall apart. For me, it’s not about replacing the creative part, but about understanding how these tools can support it without losing control over the outcome.
This is an ongoing process. I’m testing, learning, and figuring out how to use these tools in a way that feels intentional and true to my work.
Experimenting with videos
I’ve been trying to figure out how my characters work in motion. Using AI tools, I turn my illustrations into short video clips and see what happens when they start to move.
Right now, this is very much about exploring. I’m looking at how movement, expression, and visual consistency hold up when going from a still image to something animated. And honestly, it’s not perfect yet. There are still issues with timing, control, and consistency. But that’s part of the process, and exactly what I’m trying to understand.
Whats Next
I want to take this further by working with storyboards as a base. The idea is to create simple sequences first, either by filming myself or working with friends, and then use those as a foundation for AI-generated clips.
By combining real footage, prompts, and clear visual direction, I’m trying to build a workflow that leads to more controlled and intentional results. Still figuring it out, but that’s the direction I’m heading in.
