Waak The House
Highlighting the judges,
amplifying the stage
Project Summary
Waak the House was a Waacking and House dance battle judged by four featured jury members: Frances, Ani, Notika, Nici, and Parish. The objective of the project was to create a unified set of illustrated portraits for promotional use across social media, particularly Instagram, while maintaining strong alignment with the existing event logo, brand identity, and corporate color palette. The illustrations were designed to highlight each jury member’s unique personality and dance style while ensuring visual harmony across all assets. The expressive color red was incorporated into every image as a key visual element, symbolizing energy, rhythm, and cohesion throughout the series.
My work encompassed character illustration, custom hand-lettering, and the design of the final event poster. The resulting artwork balanced bold movement and expressive detail, reinforcing the event’s dynamic spirit and elevating its presence within the dance community.
About the Client
Francesco F. W. is an enthusiastic dancer, attorney, and good friend of mine. Driven by his passion for movement and community, he decided to create his own dance event and approached me with a strong concept and initial logo design. My task was to develop a series of Instagram illustrations that integrated his core visual identity. What followed was a wonderful collaboration that resulted in an inspiring event filled with talented dancers and great music.

What I learned
I learned to adapt my style to my clients wishes as well as staying within the corporate colors. I also developed a sense for social media campaigning and the ways design can enhance it.
